Landlord Self-Help Centre

The Landlord's Self-Help Centre is a specialty clinic operating within the province-wide community legal clinic system and funded by Legal Aid Ontario.  It provides information, assistance and educational programs to Ontario's small scale landlords free of charge.

The clinic developed and launched the Landlord Learning Forum program in 2003.  That program provided an orientation for people thinking of becoming a landlord and was also intended to help landlords already in the business to build skills, enhance their knowledge base and gain a better understanding of the regulations that govern residential rental agreements and relationships in Ontario.

In 2005 the Landlord Self-Help Centre is developing a series of Landlord Learning Forums that will be available online.  The development of Online Landlord Learning will ensure that all landlords across the province have access to our program which will be available 24 hours a day and seven days a week.  Click here to go to their Landlord Learning Forum page.

Landlord and Tenant Board

The Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal is now known as the Landlord and Tenant Board. The Landlord and Tenant Board’s role is to provide information about the RTA and to resolve disputes between most residential landlords and tenants.  Visit their "Help for Landlords" page for information applicable to landlords, what forms you need to use and instructions on how to complete them.  They also have a page specifically for landlord applications.
