Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) (Serving South Eastern Ontario) - access centres are local organizations from the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care providing access to government-funded home and community services, and long-term care homes.

If you receive home care services through your local CCAC, you or others acting on a your behalf can call the Long-Term Care Action Line (1-866-876-7658 or TTY 1-800-387-5559) if you have a concern or complaint about the services you are receiving through the CCAC.

HIV and AIDS Legal Clinic of Ontario (HALCO) - specialty clinic for people living with HIV/AIDS

Income Security and Advocacy Centre (ISAC) - specialty clinic, works with and on behalf of low income communities in Ontario to address issues of income security and poverty.

ODSP Action Coalition - They undertake campaigns and activities designed to raise awareness of issues affecting persons in receipt of Ontario Disability Support Program ("ODSP") benefits. Visit the ODSP Action Coalition's page on writing to your MPP to protest the decision to cancel the special diet.

Home Repair - Funds available from CMHC and LIEN:

Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program for Persons with Disabilities (RRAP-Disabilities) - RRAP offers financial assistance to homeowners and landlords to undertake accessibility work to modify dwellings occupied or intended for occupancy by low-income persons with disabilities. Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation - Homeowner Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (Homeowner RRAP) - offers financial assistance to low-income households who own and occupy substandard housing to enable them to repair their dwellings to a minimum level of health and safety. Canada Mortgage and housing Corporation - Emergency Repair Program (ERP) - assists low-income homeowners or occupants in rural areas to make emergency repairs required for the continued safe occupancy of their houses.

Disability Support Team - Helping disabled homeowners with repairs

The Disability Support Team (DST) is a not-for-profit organization which is committed to assisting the many disabled individuals in our community who own their home, requiring practical home improvements. The Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) have done a great job providing disabled homeowners with finances to meet their basic residential/renovation needs, but many individuals still are faced with other limiting challenges in and around their home. DST looks to step in and practically address remaining issues after prudent analysis of submitted applications by their review board.

If you are disabled and require repairs/improvements to your home, and are not covered or have exhausted coverage provided by ODSP or CMHC, contact the Disability Support Team for help.
