Poverty Free Ontario

An Ontario free of poverty will be reflected in healthy, inclusive communities with a place of dignity for everyone and the essential conditions of well-being for all. The mission of Poverty Free Ontario is to eliminate divided communities in which large numbers of adults and children live in chronic states of material hardship, poor health and social exclusion.  Poverty Free Ontario is an initiative of the Social Planning Network of Ontario.  Visit their website to learn more.

Making Poverty History is the Goal - Poor No More

A new anti-poverty movement is developing in Belleville.

The campaign is being backed by a growing list of community agencies with varied interest in the fight against poverty in the Friendly City.

Informal discussions about poverty issues among a handful of agencies has evolved into the formation of the Poor No More committee.
